Freya Dalsjø SS26: A Sculptural Comeback Steeped In Precision
By Simone Stubgaard, Founder SS STUDIO.
On day one of Copenhagen Fashion Week SS26, Freya Dalsjø made a quiet but powerful return to the runway after a six-year pause—one that left the audience holding its breath for every look. Staged at Nikolaj Kunsthal, the collection unfolded like a whisper turned statement, rooted in material mastery and an unwavering design language.
This wasn’t a comeback wrapped in nostalgia or spectacle. Instead, Dalsjø approached the moment with focus and restraint, presenting pieces that spoke through form, technique, and tactile clarity. Each material choice felt deliberate. Silks moved with intention, cut and weighted to fall just so. Leathers were woven and sculpted, not just worn but engineered, resulting in silhouettes that curved and held shape like wearable sculpture.
It was clear that time had not diluted her vision—it had sharpened it. Rather than rushing to meet trends, Dalsjø stood still and carved her own lane. The collection felt like the product of time well spent—of edits, pauses, and deeply considered construction.
Freya Dalsjø didn’t just return to the schedule—she returned with a message: craftsmanship isn’t loud, and patience pays off. Her SS26 showing reminded us that some voices don’t need volume to be heard. They just need space. And this season, she took it back—on her own terms.
