OperaSport SS26: A Splash Of Seoul And Scandinavian Cool
By Simone Stubgaard, Founder SS STUDIO.
Copenhagen Fashion Week SS26 kicked off with a literal splash, as OpéraSport opened the schedule with a runway show that blurred the lines between elegance and edge. Set at Frederiksberg Badene, the collection debuted poolside—with a platform diver plunging dramatically into the water just moments before Alana Hadid glided down the catwalk. It was the kind of cinematic start that set the tone for a collection full of contrasts and quiet confidence.
The inspiration? A spontaneous spark discovered during the founders’ trip to Seoul, where Awa Malina Stelter and Stephanie Gundelach opened a pop-up shop and unearthed fresh influences. That global-meets-Scandinavian spirit echoed throughout the SS26 collection: silky pastel shirts and sheer gossamer tops brought softness and movement, while lace-trimmed frocks dotted with 3D blooms leaned into romance.
But it wasn’t all sweetness—OpéraSport balanced the airy with the grounded. Sharp suiting, tailored cargo pants, and vegan leather jackets in deep navy and jet black added depth and a tougher edge to the collection. Ruffled swimwear, graphic prints, and sculptural floral appliqués made appearances across ladylike dresses and statement coats, keeping the visuals rich and cohesive.
From every angle, the show was a celebration of contrast—soft meets structured, delicate meets defiant. OpéraSport SS26 captured the essence of summer in motion: cool, collected, and ready to dive in.
