Four Injured in Texas Gun Shooting
The shooting took place in Austin, Texas on the last day of the SXSW festival.
Four people have been injured in a shooting in Austin, Texas early on Sunday morning. Shots were heard by police patrolling the 400 block of East 6th street at 12:50 a.m. on the closing weekend of the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival. The victims were hospitalized for minor injuries after a disturbance between the two groups which has resulted in one suspect being placed in custody. However, the incident is still being investigated.

The shooting fell on the last weekend of the SXSW festival which was held in Austin, Texas again this year after two years of gathering virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The festival has had a history with gun violence in the past as in 2019 three unrelated shootings took place during the festival, all of which were condemned by police chief Brian Manley.
