First Look At Jenna Ortega As Wednesday Addams

The return of the goth icon.

On Monday, Netflix released the teaser footage of Scream actress Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams for Tim Burton’s Wednesday series during Netflix’s Geeked Week 2022. The clip shows Ortega as Wednesday with a welcomed appearance by Thing, a handy disembodied assistant to the Addams family. The series will drop on the streaming service in late 2022 with an 8-episode season.

Wednesday is described as a supernatural sleuthing mystery following a teenage Wednesday Addams during her time at Nevermore Academy. The show will explore Wednesday’s psychic ability to stop a killing spree and solve a supernatural mystery involving her parents.

The series will star Ortega along with Luis Guzmán as Gomez, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia, and Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley. George Burcea will play the family butler Lurch and Victor Dorobantu as Thing. Christina Ricci was cast in an undisclosed role. Ricci played Wednesday in the 1991 film The Addams Family and the 1993 sequel Addams Family Values directed by Barry Sonnenfeld.

More of the cast includes Gwendoline Christie, Hunter Doohan, Percy Hynes White, Joy Sunday, Emma Myers, Riki Lindhome, Jamie McShane, Georgie Farmer, Naomi Ogawa, and Moosa Mostafa.
