Fill your Wardrobe with Brandon Maxwell

And the designer’s Resort 2025 Ready-to-Wear Collection.

Brandon Maxwell’s 2025 Resort collection is one of optimism and chic. The designer wanted to move beyond the controlled but rather beautiful collections of his past which he designed while working through personal loss.

While the collection does have some evening wear options - most notable is a baby yellow gown inspired from Kate Hudson’s ‘How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days’ - Maxwell has daywear in mind this time around.

This decision is perhaps a nod to his growing direct-to-consumer business which aims to offer customers an increased set of options for their everyday wardrobe.

For those days where you need a light jacket, the collection opened with a four-pocket black jacket that has hand-hammered brass ‘rage’ buttons, belted with a hand-molded and poured heart-shaped belt buckle coated in 18 karat gold. This is also available in a cool blue acid-wash denim print. Elsewhere, Maxwell is offering a 100 percent recycled cashmere knit range with Ryan Roche.

If you are looking forward to the summer days, easy summer dresses filled the collection. A favorite was a chic tunic in white silk that featured polka dots for days on the beach or out to lunch with your loved ones.

Referring to the collection’s fabric developments, he believes that “that is what has made the brand work, in its austerity is that there’s joy infused in it — and fun, whimsy and a little bit not so, ‘on the nose.’”

Maxwell set a challenge for himself: to fill your wardrobe. He shared that, “What I tried to give in the beginning was a very simplistic, beautiful fabrication and I tried to mold the clothes into shapes and ways that were very special. What I’ve tried to do now is do that same thing through fabrications in more democratic, wearable silhouettes.”

He achieved this effortlessly for all of your day and evening wear needs.
