Brandon Maxwell's Fall 2018 Show Was A Walking Valentine's Note

To all of his women.

POSTED BY DEE CUNNING

Brandon Maxwell's Fall 2018 show was dedicated to all of the women he works with and all of the women who wear his clothes. Aside from the actual Valentine's note he left on every seat at the show, you could say that the collection was nothing less than a walking love letter.

The designer described the collection as “relaxed glamor,” apparent in the elegant, form-loving silhouettes and glitsy details, and perhaps best exemplified by the combination of a plain white tee with a billowing satin skirt parting slightly at the front to reveal a pair of pink fluffy slippers. The pieces were made for party-going it-girls, many of whom – Bella and Gigi Hadid, Adwoa Aboah, Karlie Kloss, Joan Smalls and Jourdan Dunn included – walked in the show.

Also included were some denim ensembles, including some kicking flared jeans, some business-ready tailoring and a black knit hoodie – which Gigi wore paired with earrings, a brooch and an embellished ball skirt to close the show.
