FILA and Y/Project Reveal Collaboration On SS22 Runway
We see the new collection in Paris Fashion Week.
Glenn Martens has returned with a new collaboration with FILA for Y/Project’s Spring/ Summer 2022 Menswear show.
During Paris Fashion Week, Fila’s Y/Project collection was showcased to celebrate the sportswear’s 110th anniversary. Martens said, “I see this collaboration, really, as a marriage of Y/Project’s experimental spirit and FILA’s innovative drive grounded in sportswear. The process was as easy as it was fun, and it allowed me to openly explore a streetwear direction that felt new. There is a fresh, happy vibe to the endeavor that I think is right for this moment.”
The collection sees the designer signature distortion seen throughout Fila’s sports-centric pieces such as hoodies, polo neck dresses, windbreakers and t-shirts, tennis bags, caps and sneakers. This season’s collection includes jackets with dropped shoulders, low-cut jeans and have V-shaped waistlines, shirts carry asymmetric creases down one side to create a ruffle illusion.
The show highlights knit sweaters with braids at the neckline, denim jackets and trousers had textured looks with fabric panels in darker washes. Garments are accessorized Melissa x Y/Project’s collaborative mules, as well as oversized earrings and small shoulder bags.
