Its Fila’s 110th Anniversary
And the brand has released a special collection in honour of it.
Fila are celebrating their 110th anniversary this year, and to mark the occasion they’ve teamed up with British stylist Katie Grand to restyle some of the brands most iconic designs. The new collection was premiered last Sunday at Milan Fashion Week in the form of a short video directed by Steve Mackey.
The video sees various models walking down the centre of a catwalk, whilst large graphic panels either side depict retro inspired graphics to the tune of Put Your Fila’s On by Schoolly D.
The video depicts various styles from Fila’s many collaborations with the professional sporting world, including tennis, basketball, swimming, golf and much more. Many of the pieces feature Fila’s traditional red, white and navy color palette in the form of preppy sweaters and shell tracksuits. Elsewhere however, bright colors such as florescent orange and yellows add to the 1980s vibe. The brand’s classic all white tennis shoes also make an appearance alongside several accessories.
