Fairy Tales, Chaos & Full-On Rebellion

Magliano FW25.

POSTED BY ZOE TYLER

Once upon a time—no kings here, just a piece of wood. For FW25, Magliano drags us deep into the tangled woods of memory, where fairy tales clash with reality and every limit—of body, clothes, and society—is ripe for breaking. This collection is less about neat narratives and more about the chaos of recollection—those fleeting, stormy moments that hit like a lightning bolt and leave fossil-like traces behind.

The silhouettes? Stripped-back, raw, and perfectly imperfect, channeling that messy nostalgia of early 2000s aesthetics: black, white, and every shade of grey in between. Classics get a Magliano remix—coats with towels stitched in, trousers pulling double duty as swimwear and eveningwear, and pieces that blur function and fantasy into one glorious muddle. These clothes don’t just dress you; they tell a story that’s chaotic, rebellious, and entirely their own.

The textures do the talking—knots, tangles, and fabrics that look like they shouldn’t get along but somehow do. Microscopic details like the tiniest threads and stitches are blown up into art, turning what’s hidden into a full-on flex. Edges are frayed, hems are wild, and the reverse side of things steals the spotlight, because who needs tidy when messy is this good?

Childhood memories get punked up through cross-stitch embroidery, but not the kind your grandma made. Magliano flips it into a political statement, weaving together fragments of Google searches that jump from poetry to porn. Even the sweaters—crafted with Cormio—aren’t playing it safe. They scream alliance, rebellion, and the kind of “we’re in this together” energy that hits hard.

And then there’s Pinocchio, the season’s star. Transformation, chaos, and a little bit of magic—he’s the perfect mascot for Magliano’s rebellious fairy tale. Accessories take on this same energy, with joyful acts of “thieving” creating racing car reflector jewelry, high-vis polish accents, and broken wicker baskets reimagined as statement pieces. The humble work apron gets a glow-up into eveningwear, while latex slinks in, bringing high-shine, high-drama energy to the party.

Oh, and the queer undertones? Chemsex takes center stage with a haunting still-life print, capturing a table of tools and the charged air around them in a way that feels both quiet and loud. Giorgio Morandi meets the Care Club.

Magliano FW25 isn’t here to play by the rules. It’s messy, it’s bold, and it’s the ultimate rebellion against convention—because when the body rebels, the clothes follow.
