Grace Kelly, a style icon, loved actress and princess. Grace epitomized the elegance of the 1950s. Her sophistication was wrapped in style, complete with diamonds and, tiara too.

Grace Kelly was born in 1929. Kelly in Philadelphia.

After high school, she moved to New York at 18, to pursue acting. With her gorgeously slim figure, like the ones drawn in fashion magazine by René Gruau for Vogue. Grace wanted not just a good job and salary but to be taken as a woman, which was difficult considering the bad reputation of how actresses were made. Her father; Jack Kelly opinion on acting was “a slim-cut above streetwalker.” Her being raised with catholic roots, her ambition and drive pushed her to success as an actress.

This was her chance to make it, make it big time!

On the side of her school acting she modelled to earn some extra money, being featured in ads for Old Gold cigarettes and on the covers of magazines like Cosmopolitan and Redbook

This gave her an air of confidence and exposure to the public eye.

At 19 she graduated, taking to Broadway but finding it extremely difficult, according to her director, she had “great looks and style, yes, but no vocal horsepower." — Don Richardson.

So like metal to a magnet, she was drawn to acting and where did that take place?…. of course, Hollywood! Eventually featuring her in 11 films and starring in over 60 television productions. She was picked up by Gary Cooper, after seeing her play in Fourteen Hours.

With rumors of a steamy love affair, she was cast as Don’s wife in High Noon (1952) leading her to a path to stardom. Followed by appearing in Mogambo (1953), Hitchcock's Rear Window (1954), Dial M for Murder (1954) and To Catch a Thief (1955).

Then in 1956, she married Prince Rainier III of Monaco, and the press glamorized her life, depicting it as a fairy-tale romance. When in reality it was strikingly cold.

For Grace, her hobbies kept her busy, and fashion became synonymous with her. Grace loved Dior and with loving Dior came beautiful gowns. she mesmerized a lot of people, one of her all-over attributes was love and kindness.
