After-Party Perfection: Five Of The Best Post-Met Gala Looks
From iconic archives to modern marvels, these looks are worth a second glance!
This year's Met Gala "The Garden of Time" was quite the ethereal affair. Guests graced the steps adorned in florals, wispy fabrics, and even some tree branches but the fun didn't stop there. The various after-parties that take place after the Met Gala are a second opportunity for attendees to show off more iconic looks. Some choose to tone it down while others wear outfits so spectacular it raises the yearly question of, “Why didn’t they just wear that on the steps?”
Here are the top five Met Gala after-party outfits from this year.
Kendall Jenner
After ascending the steps in a never-worn-before Alexander McQueen piece, Kendall Jenner had no choice but to up her game even more for the after-parties. She went for an angelic archive moment in Givenchy by Alexander McQueen ss’97.
Sydney Sweeney
Sydney Sweeney paired her new black bob with a Miu Miu set consisting of a brown handkerchief top and matching midi skirt. The look was a casual addition to her collection of Met Gala looks and was reminiscent of the 2000s.
Jennie
Jennie wowed her fans in a chic Alaia cross-neck dress studded with silver eyelets. The look was completed with a black fur jacket, studded bag, and mesh-look heels.
Sabrina Carpenter
Sabrina Carpenters after party look triggered the inevitable question – why didn’t she wear it on the carpet? Her second look, a powdered blue mini dress adorned in blue hydrangeas, seems to follow the custom Oscar de la Renta dress she wore earlier in the night.
Akili King
Essence beauty editor and Vogue columnist Akili King wore a beautiful pale yellow silk slip dress with a small nod to this year's theme. The bottom of the dress was ruched to portray the look of soft, delicate petals.
