Evisu Mastermind Japan And Roarguns Take Denim Apart

Three Japanese streetwear identities, one seriously reconstructed denim collection. EVISU, mastermind JAPAN and roarguns have joined forces for a seven-piece capsule that layers distressed denim, dark graphics, Swarovski crystals and custom hardware into a distinctly rebellious take on archival workwear.

Rather than simply plastering three logos onto the same jacket, the collaboration plays with construction itself. Torn pockets and distressed sections partially reveal EVISU’s iconic Daicock artwork underneath, turning the brand’s signature graphic into something you discover rather than just see.

Three Archives, One Dark Aesthetic

Each label brings a different strength to the collection. EVISU supplies its denim heritage and signature multi-pocket construction, mastermind JAPAN contributes its monochromatic attitude, and roarguns adds its own graphic identity.

The centerpiece is a reworked Type II denim jacket in black-overdyed denim, paired with matching jeans in a relaxed, boxy fit. Swarovski crystals, metallic-thread embroidery and hand-painted-inspired graphics bring texture and contrast, while custom metal buttons, branded leather patches and D-ring hardware finish the pieces with plenty of detail.

Distressed Denim Gets the Luxury Treatment

The capsule goes beyond jeans and jackets, with a zip-up hoodie inspired by vintage after-hood sweatshirts, a layered waffle shirt, washed graphic T-shirts, an aged denim cap and a messenger bag. Each piece carries the collection’s darker palette and reconstructed design language without relying on the same treatment throughout.

The appeal lies in the tension between rugged workwear and elaborate finishing. Distressed fabric suggests years of wear, while crystals and metallic embroidery make the garments feel deliberately crafted. It’s denim that looks like it has a history, even when it’s brand new.

The EVISU x mastermind JAPAN x roarguns collection debuted at GR8 in Tokyo on October 15, followed by its global release on October 16 at 12 p.m. JST.
