Eva Lazarus Is Embracing A Royal Way Of Life
The UK R&B artist's new single is the serotonin boost we all needed.
“No worries, no problems, no hustle. My stress and my issues are canceled.” These are the lyrics that introduce the chorus of “Royalty,” the next addition to confidence boosting playlists everywhere.
Eva Lazarus, the UK-based artist behind the song, is most known for her work with Mungo’s Hi Fi, a Glaswegian group recognized for their embrace of traditional Jamaican sound system culture. Together, the pairing released an album of reggae and dub inspired tracks that placed Eva on the map of rising soulful artists.
Now, with the release of her second solo single, she is welcoming an altogether soulful sound. “Royalty” follows “How Am I Looking?” released in February of this year. Both tracks provide the ever-necessary affirmation of standing in your power and adopting a stance of confidence, and in the case of “Royalty,” slowing down and enjoying small moments of peace.
Alongside the track, Eva has also released an accompanying video. Directed by Mara Lee, the visuals see the musician lounging in a sunlit room, surrounded by flower petals and champagne, channeling the joyously relaxed spirit of the song. We have a feeling the tune will be the soundtrack to all of our summer getaways for the rest of the season.
