Emmy Awards Just Announced

Here are the nominees...

POSTED BY EMILY BARKHAM

Nominees for the 73rd Emmy Awards were just announced this Tuesday by Ron Cephas Jones (“This Is Us”) and Jasmine Cephas Jones (“Blindspotting”), who just so happen to be father and daughter. Now that’s some talented genetics.

The Awards will be premiered on Sept. 19 on CBS and Paramount Plus at 5 p.m. PST and 8 p.m. EST. The event this year will be hosted by actor and comedian, Cedric The Entertainer. With COVID-19 still acting as the unwanted gate-crasher, the ceremony this year will be held in person, but with restricted audience numbers.

The top nominees are ‘The Crown’ (Netflix) and ‘The Mandalorian’ (Disney+), both accumulated an impressive 24 nominations. Following suit are ‘Wandavision’ (Marvel and Disney+) with 23 nominations, and ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ with 21.

HBO and HBO Max hold the highest number of nominations at a staggering 130. However, Netflix is hot on their heels with 129 nominations under their belt.
