Elizaveta Porodina's 'Un/Masked' Exhibition Opens at Fotografiska Berlin
Step into the Surreal World of Porodina's Photography.
Lights, camera, action! Get ready to step into the captivating world of Elizaveta Porodina as Fotografiska Berlin gears up to unveil her latest exhibition, "Un/Masked," on April 25, 2024.
From 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM, the doors will swing open to welcome art enthusiasts, photographers, and anyone with an eye for the extraordinary. But don't fret if you can't make it on opening night; the magic of Porodina's work will be on display until August 18, 2024.
Born in Moscow and now based in Munich, Porodina's journey has been nothing short of fascinating. Arriving in Germany as a "quota refugee" at the age of twelve, she found solace in painting, using bold colors and expressive faces to convey her innermost thoughts and emotions.
But Porodina's artistic evolution didn't stop there. Inspired by the likes of Matisse, Renoir, and Picasso, she transitioned from brushes to cameras, using light, color, and shadow to create abstract and surrealist photographs that offer a glimpse into her subconscious.
"Un/Masked" is more than just an exhibition; it's an invitation to explore the complexity of human nature. Drawing on her background in clinical psychology, Porodina delves into the intricacies of emotion-driven behavior, holding up a mirror to society and challenging us to peer behind the masks we wear.
With a portfolio that boasts collaborations with iconic brands like Dior, Chanel, and Vogue, Porodina has cemented her status as a trailblazer in the world of photography. But her influence extends beyond the realm of fashion; she's a visionary whose work transcends boundaries, blurring the lines between art and photography.
