It sounds like Eden Rain, an alt-pop artist from Leeds based in London, is gaining recognition and critical acclaim after her debut EP, Gutter Vision. Now, she is preparing to release her second EP, and the first single, "Terry And Julie," offers a captivating blend of left-pop elements, showcasing Eden's unique vocals and inventive lyrics.

Eden drew inspiration from "Waterloo Sunset" and the concept of long train journeys for the track. She wanted to create a song that delves into other people's lives, providing a bit of escapism from her own personal drama. The song revolves around the characters of Terry and Julie, who meet at Waterloo station every Friday night. Eden reimagined their story as a middle-aged crisis love affair, where they had married other people but reconnected later in life, discovering their feelings for each other.

The track is described as a "summery love song anthem meets prime time BBC ONE Drama starring Suranne Jones." This suggests that it has an uplifting and dramatic quality that appeals to a broad audience.

Now, she's set to continue her rise as an independent artist with the release of her second EP and headline shows in London and Leeds in November.

Overall, Eden Rain seems to be on a promising trajectory in the music industry, and her upcoming EP and live performances are eagerly anticipated by fans and music enthusiasts alike.

Raised in Yorkshire, Eden jokingly describes her early musical upbringing as having a “Von Trapp vibe”, full of long car journeys packed with family sing-alongs to homemade mixtapes, and multi-part harmonies sung with her siblings; “a lovely wholesome relationship with music,” she nods. Having been an avid writer of teenage poetry, she admits with only a mild cringe, it was when she sang Carole King’s ‘You’ve Got A Friend’ at a talent show aged 13 that she began to tie the ideas of writing and performing in her mind. Eden started taking piano lessons and, a couple of years later, began to pen her own music.
