Diesel And Coca Cola Team Up For An Upcycle Collection

A new take on sustainable fashion.

POSTED BY MIRABELA THÜS

Turning recycled bottles into highly fashionable pieces? Diesel teamed up with Coca Cola and did just that! The ’(Re)Collection’ dropped worldwide and is partially made of materials such as recycled PET bottles, that can’t be re-used for new bottles, as well as recycled cotton.

Sustainability is something the fashion industry unfortunately is struggling with for decades, being the second largest polluter the world next to the oil industry. It has a fatal impact on the environment. As the industry isn’t planning on slowing down anytime soon, it’s more important than ever for brands to start acting on it. Now.

The capsule collection isn’t only raising awareness of recycling and sustainability, it also looks incredibly cool. It combines the classic Diesel style with the iconic Coca Cola logo in their signature red color, creating dope denim streetwear pieces such as a unisex workwear denim jacket and cozy shirts and hoodies that add to the collection’s casual side for a simple, yet stylish every-day look.

No, the ’(Re)Collection’ won’t solve plastic pollution on its own. But it’s refreshing seeing brands teaming up with big companies such as Coca Cola and really thinking about sustainable solutions, not shying away from alternative materials. It might be a small step, but at least it’s headed in the right direction.
