In the fashion industry,  Fashion Week holds great significance. More niche designers have the chance to gain media attention thanks to London Fashion Week.

Victorian style has been making a strong comeback in our clothing choices lately.  A wonderful example of art and fashion blended is the company Bora Aksu, which never fails to amaze us.

The Designer

Bora Aksu, a British designer, gained his initial attention after graduating from Central St Martins MA in 2002.

Over the course of his career, he has created a very unique signature. Elegant, fascinating and seductive, his semi-couture creations are romantic but always with a darker edge. His style can be described as youthful, passionate, feminine and modern.

Fall/Winter 2024-25

Bora Aksu's Fall Winter 2024-25 collection tells a tragic story inspired by the life and work of renowned artist Eva Hesse.

The designer's inspiration is to transmute negative emotions into stunning artworks. The designer experiments with volume, combining flowy skirts with fitted masculine coats.  Mohair lace gowns, layered with iridescent underskirts and knitted cardigans.  He makes paradoxical clothes by combining feminine and masculine textiles. The palette is more muted than normal, with taupe, cream and blush pink tones.

Aksu honors Eva Hesse fortitude and inventiveness, drawing connections between her ability to turn grief into art and beauty and his own artistic journey.

Beautiful needlework and intriguing designs combine to give the piece a sense of structure and playfulness. This results in a mysterious and multidimensional series that is perfect for the season and gives the brand a consistent romantic tone.

It's impossible to ignore the Bora Aksu AW24–25—it's a gem!
