KGL Unveils 'Arc Echo' Collection at London Fashion Week

Kanika Goyal's vibrant show blends memories and identity.

POSTED BY FIZZY STAFF

Last night, Fizzy Mag had the exclusive opportunity to visit the presentation at London Fashion Week, where designer Kanika Goyal unveiled her latest collection, 'Arc Echo.' This season, Goyal delves into a period of introspection, exploring fragmented memories and identity by intertwining past and future experiences.

The collection, aptly named 'Arc Echo,' reflects a flux of beginnings and endings, symbolizing self-deliberation through paradoxical elements. Inspired by the transformative qualities of dreams, the garments fuse bold design and primary colors, weaving together different facets of one's personality into cohesive pieces. Mosaic knits illustrate the complexity of memories, while hybrid blazers, jacquard knits, and weaved denim showcase a juxtaposition of harmony and chaos, echoing Goyal's fascination with human psychology.

Innovation and collaboration shine through as KGL questions traditional tailoring norms with a sustainable approach to materials. Honoring Indian craftsmanship, the fabrics uplift local artisans in New Delhi, while surplus materials are repurposed, blending old and new in homage to Goyal's heritage. The collection features upcycled denim two-pieces and accessories crafted from surplus leather offcuts, embodying deep values of circularity and social uplift.

Through obscured acrylic screens and a lineup of 16 key looks, the presentation channels perceptions within the dream realm, symbolizing the disparity between past and future selves.
