Converse X PLEASURES Puts Punk Back On The Map
It's getting wild.
The Converse Pro Leather goes punk with "PLEASURES". Known for their provocative prints, the streetwear brand introduces a new take of the iconic basketball silhouette, inspired by founder Alex James' affection for punk icons of the 80s and 90s.
Converse played an important part in the 1980s punk-scene, when the Chuck Taylor All Star was worn by musicians and bands who defined the movement back then - a connection still visible today.
While Converse increasingly wants to establish Pro Leather as a street-style model, PLEASURES is one of the first collaborators to redesign the silhouette. A timeless silhouette that is recognized in basketball as one of the most iconic shoes and a classic within the Converse archive. It has been reissued since its debut in 1976 over and over again, never losing its iconic status.
Converse x PLEASURE highlights the versatility of the Pro Leather and shows how fast it can turn from a sports shoe to a canvas for punk and especially creative expression. The collection uses the silhouette as its foundation and embraces it with a street-art inspired black and white print.
