CL took to Instagram to announce that she will be realising her highly anticipated debut album as a solo artist.

The former 2NE1 member posted a 14-second clip of the singer’s silhouette stood in front of a screen of lava as a camera slowly pulls in. A quick cut then shows a black screen with the words “ALPHA” sprawled across.

The teaser did not give much away, but CL has since posted saying that the album is due out in October and the first single will be released on August 24th. There have been speculations of some tracks that may be a part of the album, as towards the end of last year CL released a snippet of a song entitled +POST UP+ onto YouTube.

ALPHA will be CL’s first release since her two singles +HWA+ and +5 STAR+ dropped at the end of last year. Since then, the singer has collaborated with DPR Ian, and the hip hop collective EPIK HIGH.

ALPHA was originally supposed to be released last year, but due to certain circumstances was delayed. Fans eagerly await the release of CL’s debut album and anticipate the return of one of K-pop’s most recognizable faces.
