Chanel’s Cruise 2024/25 Collection Reimagined in Hong Kong
A cinematic journey.
Following a stunning debut in the southern French city of Marseille, Chanel has re-staged its Cruise 2024/25 collection in Hong Kong, bringing new energy and cultural depth to its latest designs. To complement this setting, Chanel enlisted director Audrey Diwan to create Modern Flirt, a short film exploring the themes of chance encounters and human connection. Starring Angela Yuen and Benjamin Voisin, the film captures the magic of Hong Kong’s illuminated streets and bustling crowds, drawing inspiration from Gabrielle Chanel's historic love for cinema. Diwan’s film invites viewers to reflect on the fleeting connections formed within the city’s vibrant and ever-moving landscape.
While the Hong Kong setting presents a dramatic shift from the coastal atmosphere of the South of France, the collection’s spirit of imagination and the thrill of meeting new people remain central. The show featured pieces that evoke a sense of adventure and romance, resonating with the city’s energetic pulse and iconic skyline.
The star-studded event drew major Chanel ambassadors, including Penelope Cruz, Angèle, and G-Dragon, who gathered alongside Hong Kong’s cultural icons, such as acclaimed actor Chow Yun Fat. Set against the architectural backdrop of the Hong Kong Design Institute, the show masterfully blended Chanel’s storied French heritage with Hong Kong’s sleek modernity, creating a visually captivating experience that linked tradition with contemporary allure.
