grCanada Goose has teamed up with three global designers, Collina Strada, Thebe Magugu, and Mira Mikati, to create the first of their kind in the world of outerwear. The Canadian outerwear brand has launched a limited edition ‘capsule’, revamping their Shelburne Parkas, Mystique Parkas, and Chilliwack Bombers to reflect the essence of each designer. The collection is colourful, thoughtful and experiments with innovative ways to redesign and repurpose the hood of their jackets. These new outerwear features that are sure to make the wearer stand out from the crowd this winter season.

Be Me Shelburne Parkas
Hillary Taymour, the brains behind the NYC brand, wanted to demonstrate her ‘environmental consciousness’ throughout both of her designs. The Basically Floral Print features a striking pop of red in the form of flowers along the bottoms of the sleeves and jacket, whereas the Plaid Maple Print combines the plaid with a contrasting floral print in a more neutral, autumnal pallete. The element that ties these jackets together though is the iconic cat ear hood trim, reinventing the future possibilities of outerwear design.
Thebe Magugu
Heirloom Mystique Parka
Magugu turned to his South African heritage and was inspired by Sotho culture, which can be seen through his use of motif. The print on the parka is actually a representation of "Poone" (Corn on the Cob), which is said to symbolise wealth and prosperity. And as for the hood, Magugu has developed a new trim style which gives the appearance of a tied up scarf around the neck. Keeping you warm and stylish, yet suitably functionable.
Mira Mikati
Bright Sky Chilliwack Bomber
Mikati was inspired by her love of nature to design these radiant yellow and blue bombers, illustrated by an abstract sunset over the water that wraps around the back of the coat. Finished with a bright contrasting lining, this design is destined to heal the wearers' inner child and ‘infuse joy’ and optimism. And if that wasn’t enough, the jacket comes with a unique oversized hood trim decorated with the same sunset pattern.
The sky is the limit with these hood trim designs, and Canada Goose hasn’t quite reached there yet. They have also launched a collection of individual hood trims to spruce up your existing outerwear.
The designers have created rainbow hood trims, crocheted hood trims and even a Merino Wool shawl hood trim that functions as a detachable scarf. They are all compatible with a variety of the brand’s parkas to construct your own ‘distinct style’.
