Burberry To Go Ahead With ‘Immersive Show Experience’ For Spring 2021
The show must go on.
With many of fashion’s biggest names waving goodbye to fashion week this year and others turning to digital alternatives to showcase their collections, Riccardo Tisci, creative director of Burberry, has other plans in mind for the British luxury fashion house.
The brand took to Instagram to announce its Spring/Summer 2021 collection ‘Burberry in Nature’, which described as “an immersive show experience set in the British outdoors”, is set to take place on September 17th.
As a way to "reconnect with nature and each other" a statement has confirmed that the show will be open “for all to experience digitally” and is set to be certified carbon neutral as the brand continues to tackle climate change and commit to building a more sustainable future.
"As humans, we have always had a deep affinity to nature. We have had to respect and rely upon its power for our very existence, whilst marveling and reveling in its extraordinary beauty. Especially recently, we have all yearned to reconnect again and for this show, I wanted to celebrate these feelings by bringing our community together in a creative experience that takes place within the beautiful, natural landscape of Britain," says Tisci in a recent release.
With Burberry announcing their future plans for London Fashion Week, it seems highly likely that other brands will follow suit and adopt a similar approach when it comes to showcasing their SS21 collections. We look forward to what the future holds for fashion week, that’s for sure!
