Burberry have enlisted Kendall Jenner, Shygirl and FKA Twigs for their latest campaign showcasing the Olympia Bag.
The iconic crescent shaped bags are designed by Burberry’s chief creative officer Riccardo Tisci and come in three colorways of blue, black and yellow. The campaign took a distinct vision, opting for a more natural nude aura.
Tisci spoke on their creative choice stating “I was thinking about creating the perfect form of a handbag - something that could capture the essence of femininity. So, for the campaign, I wanted to celebrate three incredible women in my life who embody the power and beauty of feminine energy: FKA twigs, Kendall and Shygirl.”
The campaign is impressively interactive with their website offering a dynamic choice of discovering how the bag is made and options to view the bag in AR.
The poignant part of the campaign is the images. British rapper Shygirl sits in a beige jumpsuit showcasing the signature black bag. FKA twigs models the beige bag in a similar colored bomber jacket. But the talking point has come from Kendall Jenner’s images. Many have criticized them for their simplicity especially compared to her sister Kylie’s latest images for her tmrw cover. Despite these criticisms, it feels like many are just struggling to understand Tisci’s creative vision.
