Burberry Debuts AW21 Campaign
The power of individuality.
Burberry has unveiled its Autumn/Winter 2021 campaign which captures a sense of freedom and celebrates those who dare to be bold. The contrasting campaign imagery features editorial shots courtesy of photographers Mert and Marcus and backstage candid shots lensed by Chris Rhodes. The images are accompanied by a video, also directed by Mert and Marcus, which sees models performing various activities from dancing to brushing their hair.
The collection features new silhouettes by Riccardo Tisci in faux fur, light catching paillettes and geometric colour blocks. Titled “Femininity,” the womenswear pieces include glitzy high neck party dresses and cropped capes adorned with the infamous Burberry chequered print. Elsewhere, shaggy fur coats are complete with playful rabbit ears contrasting the classic tailored Burberry pieces.
A recurring theme of freedom is seen throughout the collection with beige and yellow patterns inspired by the British flag, applied to silk satin and tulle skirts. “This season is very much about freedom of expression and the importance of exploring creativity,” Burberry’s chief creative officer revealed in a press statement. “And so, for the campaign, I really wanted to build on these notions and have the collection captured from to different creative perspectives.”
