Blackpink's Lisa Joins 'the White Lotus'
Not bad for a first acting gig.
The White Lotus, the hit HBO series that satirizes the lives of wealthy guests and employees at a tropical resort, is coming back for a third season. And this time, it has a special guest star: Lisa from BLACKPINK.
The K-pop sensation, who is also known as Lalisa Manoban, will make her acting debut in the show, which will be filmed in her home country of Thailand. She will join a star-studded cast that includes Parker Posey, Leslie Bibb, Jason Isaacs, and Aimee Lou Wood.
The new season will take place in different locations in Thailand, such as Bangkok, Phuket, and Koh Samui. The creator of the show, Mark White, has revealed that the story will deal with “a satirical and funny look at death and Eastern religion and spirituality,” according to The Guardian.
Lisa is not the first BLACKPINK member to try her hand at acting. Last year, Jennie Kim appeared in The Idol, a show created by Abel Tesfaye and Sam Levinson.
The release date for the third season of The White Lotus has not been announced yet. But while we wait, we can enjoy Bad Bunny’s artistic photoshoot for Jacquemus.
