Mowalola Ogunlesi

The talented Mowalola has already accomplished so much in her short time as a fashion designer. Nigerian born, she has formed connections with the likes of Naomi Campbell and Solange, as well as working for Kanye West’s Yeezy Gap Line as design director last year. In her own brand, Mowalola takes inspiration from her cultural background, creating a staple style by combining various textiles that produces an unconventional silhouette. Balanda Atis

While there are hundreds of phenomenal beauty giants on the planet, Balanda Atis is one of our favorites because she been a huge part of making the industry more inclusive. Starting out as a chemist with a love for science, the Director of Multi-cultural Beauty for L’Oréal has made it her goal to bridge the gap between black women and worthy makeup. By this, we mean makeup that actually looks good on all skin tones, instead of having to choose between two inaccurate shades. It was Balanda’s lab that founded the pigment perfect for women of dark skin tones, ultramarine blue. Carry on transforming the industry Balanda.

Koffee

Jamaican singer and songwriter, Koffee has been a breath of fresh air in the music industry. She made history when becoming the first woman to win Best Reggae album at the 2020 Grammys, and at the age of 20 she was also the youngest. A genre that is less popular in the Western world, reggae has also been popularized by Rihanna, and the pair are co-writing on her upcoming album – what a duo! We can’t wait to see what the future holds for Koffee, it will certainly be a bright one.

Imarn Ayton

It all started with Imarn being in the right place at the right time, on May 31st 2020 when she was handed a megaphone. Since then, the inspirational 29-year-old has led and conducted many speeches and is now focusing on law and government to work towards equality.
