Billie Eilish Had Her Hands Full With Grammy Trophies, Here’s The Winner Roundup
A night to honor both music and basketball.
As one of the biggest nights in the music industry, the 62nd Grammy Awards did not disappoint. Taking place at the Los Angeles Staples Centre. The arena was full both inside and out — as stars took their seats inside for the award ceremony, fans of the basketball community gathered outside to pay tribute to Kobe Bryant. The basketball legend was killed just hours earlier alongside his daughter Gianna in a helicopter crash. Host Alicia Keys addressed the cloud of sadness in the room with a tribute to the basketball star, as did many others during their speeches and performances.
Billie Eilish walked away from the event with her hands full after scrooping five awards. Her album ‘When We Fall Asleep Where Do We Go?’ scored her Album Of The Year. While hit song ‘Bad Guy’ won Record Of The Year and Song Of The Year (allowing her songwriter brother, Finneas O’Donnell, to also grab a trophy).
Our other pop princess Lizzo took home three trophies for Best Urban Contemporary Album with ‘Cuz I Love You (deluxe).’ As well as Best Pop Solo Performance of ‘Truth Hurts’ and Best Traditional R&B Performance for ‘Jerome’. I mean, she does go big or go home during her live performances, she deserved it!
Other winners included Tyler, The Creator who scooped Best Rap Album with IGOR and the Queen B, Beyonce whose documentary ‘Homecoming’ won Best Music Film.
Gotta go, we’re making a new music playlist.
