Billie Eilish Divides Opinion In Her Custom Chanel Oscars Look

What’s not to love when you’re dripping in interlocking C’s?

POSTED BY KIM WALLACE

Last night, Billie Eilish attended the 92nd Academy Awards in LA and performed a beautiful memorial rendition of The Beatles hit “Yesterday” alongside brother Finneas on the piano. However, it was her red carpet look that got everyone talking. Billie stepped out in an ivory Chanel Bouclé suit – adorned with jewelled interlocking C’s. The suit was made in Billie’s preferred oversized style and was paired with lace fingerless gloves, trailing Chanel hair ribbons and the singers signature talons and slime green roots.

Fashion fans, who prefer the brands classic styling and silhouettes, were quick to take to Instagram commenting, “just terrible” and “not sure Coco would approve.” Billie’s style will always have haters and her unique aesthetic divides opinions at the best of times, but the Bad Guy singer has heard it all before.

In a 2017 interview with Harper’s Bazaar she described her style as “pretty weird” and said - “I just like dressing out of my comfort zone. I want to dress in a way that if I was in a room full of people wearing regular clothes, I would be like ‘Oh, I bet everyone’s looking at me.’ I want to feel that way, that’s my casual.”

For her Oscars performance and for the official afterparty, Billie changed into a black, beaded Gucci suit with monogrammed lace gloves in a similar oversized silhouette. The 18-year-old is constantly slammed for the way she chooses baggy fits over figure hugging dresses, but she stays true to her personal style and dresses for herself. Respect.
