Bhad Bhabie, aka Danielle Bregoli, turns 18 today and plans to mark the occasion by auctioning off her “Cash Me Outside” meme as NFT.

NFT, or ‘non-fungible token’ currency is not an easy feat to describe. In some ways similar to Bitcoin, but in other ways drastically different, owning an NFT is like owning digital copyright for a work that can hence forth no longer be copied, or carried, by anyone but you. You could, for example, buy a meme, music, or even a tweet—it’s basically digital art dealing. Now you have this incredibly basic understanding of NFT, you're set to understand Bhad Bhabie's plans for her “Cash Me Outside” meme.

The viral meme surely needs no description – in 2016 Bhad Bhabie and her mother went onto “Dr. Phil” and what ensued was an episode of TV and internet gold. In a fit of anger, Bhad Bhabie challenges a fight with her iconic line “Cash Me Outside How Bout Dat”. The incident streamed across the globe and sparked not just a meme, but a music career, and the life of teenage Bregoli changed overnight.

An auction, called "ETH Me Outside: A CASH ME OUTSIDE NFT" has been set up for Bregoli’s birthday and will feature a collection of original digital icons from her infamous meme, her rapping music career, and contributions from creatives close to her. Through the auction you could become the owner of: the “Cash Me Outside” meme in full; a personalized video from Bhabie to the buyer; a 16-bar verse feature from the rapper; and much more.

The first round of items drops today through Opensea so keep an eye out. Further drops are happening on March 29th on Rarible (this is a female and binary-only drop) and another on March 31st on Zora. Some of the artists participating in the auction along with Bhabie include: Glassface, Oseanworld, Pastelae, Goodboyshady, Paola Pinna, Super Trip 64, producer Pliznaya and more.

Bregoli recently commented on her desire to move on from the meme that made her famous. In a YouTube video, the rapper and internet star said, “My problem with the meme was always that people only got to see half the story.” Hopefully the NFT auction will give her some closure and make some Bhad Bhabie superfans very happy.
