This Couture Designer Is Dropping A *Drugstore* Lipstick Collection

Anyone who is anyone hits the red carpet decked out in their best Balmain, and soon you’ll be able to join celebs and models all over the world and walk the (hypothetical) red carpet thanks to a new Balmain x L’Oréal collaboration. 

Yesterday, Balmain and L’Oréal announced they would be dropping a capsule collection of lipsticks in 12 new colors for the beauty brand’s bestselling lipstick range, Color Riche. This is Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing’s first step into the world of makeup, but if his haircare and fragrance lines are any indicator, we predict these lipsticks to have some serious success. Plus, we’re certain Rousteing’s celebrity clique, including Kim Kardashian, Kylie and Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid and Jourdan Dunn, will do some serious product promotion.

Unfortunately, you’ll have to wait a little while to get your hands on the shades because they won’t be released until Paris Fashion Week in September 2017. The line, featuring three color themes, will be available in drugstores. And because Balmain brings couture to everything it touches, a “jewel” edition of the lipstick will be available exclusively in Balmain stores. 

“L’Oréal Paris and Balmain share the same strong vision of femininity and the same goal, to empower women and offer them diverse ways to express themselves,” Rousteing explained. “With this collaboration, I’m thrilled to make this idea tangible for every woman around the world.”

And since one Color Riche lipstick is sold every three seconds globally, this collaboration is the perfect opportunity for Balmain to reach the masses.
