Balenciaga Unveils New Footwear With Its Mold Closed Slide
Another "ugly shoe" to add to the shopping list.
New to Balenciaga’s footwear lineup is the Mold Closed Slide. The shoe looks as if it's another iteration of the Pool Closed Slide, and inspiration for the upcoming Kensington Mule. Coming in three colorways of neon yellow, black and white, the Mold Closed Slide is completely crafted with rubber. The slip-on shoe also features the Balenciaga logo debossed in the front and the back.
The strange silhouette of the shoe is nothing new for the luxury label. Balenciaga has capitalized and become well known in selling items with bizarre silhouettes. The Mold Closed Slide is actually rather tame compared to the Crocs Tote Bag or famous Trash Bag Pouch. The slide also falls in line with the still prevalent ugly shoe trend after the revival of Crocs, clogs and dad sneakers came back into fashion.
