ASICS X VIVIENNE WESTWOOD GEL-KAYANO 26 Sneakers Have Been Unveiled
This collab will mark their sixth limited-model sneaker.
Naturally following on from a one-year hiatus, this creative duo is back again to launch their sixth limited-model sneaker collection. One of Britain’s most iconic fashion houses Vivienne Westwood and performance focused sport phenomenon ASICS will launch the ASICS X VIVIENNE WESTWOOD GEL-KAYANO 26 sneakers on September 28, globally.
The monochrome collection was debuted at the Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood F/W 2020 catwalk show. The sneakers are a nod to the original sack shoes first shown in the Westwood and McLaren A/W 1982-83 Nostalgia of Mud. The elasticated tie and gathered material as seen on the sneakers are a modern twist to the ruched leather shoes featured in Westwood’s ’82 runway.
Andreas Kronthaler himself frequently sports ASICS designs, so his decision for GEL-KAYANO 26 to be the foundation of this year’s collaboration would have been almost effortless. The simplification of the lace system teamed with performance soles offers futuristic comfort for the wearer. The ASICS logo is sat underneath the layer of mesh, while Westwood’s iconic signature is sat on the external heel. The limited-edition ASICS X VIVIENNE WESTWOOD GEL-KAYANO 26 will be available from limited global ASICS and Vivienne Westwood stores at €240 a pair.
