5 Designers That Killed Gender Stereotypes At London Fashion Week

POSTED BY DANIJEL VUKOJA

Girls you better watch out. If you think that London Collection’s Men is a playground for men only, then the presentations of SS18 collections will prove you wrong. Not only is menswear getting more and more in tune with what everybody associates with women’s wear, but gender in fashion in general is becoming a blur lately.
So here are a couple of things we learned from London Collection’s Men.

1. Menswear finds inspiration in womenswear

Crop tops aren’t for women only. At least that’s what Cottweiler x Reebok taught us by sending their male models on the catwalk in exactly crop tops.

2. Girls can play with guys
During Tinie Tempah’s What We Wear SS18 collection a female model was playing basketball with some seriously heavy dudes. Short info: What We Wear is a London based contemporary brand inspired by the wardrobe of the modern man. Incorporating timeless British style with modernity, redefining the traditional sports silhouettes.

3. Girls can wear guy clothes

KTZ is full of potential unisex pieces.

4. Sheer it up

Christopher Ræburn gave us life with his red sheer outfit, which is also available in black for the #allblackeverything hashtaggers.

5. Life is a fashion circus

Vivienne Westwood showed us that fashion is a circus- literally. But also reminded us that every collection has a message and a deeper meaning to it.  Sustainable as she is, for SS18 Vivienne states: “Buy Less, Choose Well, Make it Last’.
