Asymmetry, Anya Taylor-Joy's Way
It's amazing the difference a cutout can make.
Ever since Anya Taylor-Joy was recently spotted in New York, my mind has been on her outfit. She wore a plain white T-shirt, shades, and dark Tom Ford trousers that stole the show. These trousers were tailored but had a cutout at the hip on one side that shifted the look from safe to chic.

It got me thinking about how there's a real art to nailing asymmetry, especially in more formal wear. For every girl flaunting the trendy asymmetric ruffles hanging from her tops, skirts, and dresses, there's a girl frowning in the mirror because her one-sleeved top and trousers aren't giving what they were supposed to.

I mostly avoid asymmetry altogether for this reason, but what stood out to me about Anya's look was that it worked. The cutout was small; it didn't feel like it was doing too much. The trousers were a statement on their own but also seemed versatile enough to wear with bolder tops. This was my wake-up call that asymmetry can take far more creative forms than I'd realized.
