In an exciting partnership, Alicia Awa recently traveled to Munich to join a Patrón Masterclass led by Marcel Baumann, a celebrated German bartender and Bacardi ambassador. During the session, Alicia immersed herself in the world of tequila, discovering the perfect blend of ingredients to craft a cocktail that truly reflects her taste. The highlight of this journey is the debut of her creation, Awa's PATRÓN Paloma Twist, which she will unveil exclusively on Instagram on June 15.
The idea behind the “PATRÓN Paloma with a Twist” taps into the growing trend in Germany of putting a personal spin on beloved cocktails like the PATRÓN Paloma. Whether it’s adding a bit of spice, a touch of sweetness, or a fruity flair, Germans are getting creative with their drinks. Alicia, inspired by this movement and her newfound knowledge from the masterclass, crafted a unique version of the classic cocktail.
The Recipe
Awa's PATRÓN Paloma Twist is a delightful blend of:
- 40 ml PATRÓN Reposado
- 20 ml Verjus
- 10 ml Strawberry Syrup
- 120 ml Grapefruit Soda
The drink is garnished with fresh strawberries and a Tajín rim, adding a vibrant and flavorful touch.
Alicia’s Experience
"PATRÓN has always been my favorite spirit, even before I was asked to create my own cocktail. The Paloma is one of my go-to drinks, so this was a perfect opportunity for me," says Alicia Awa. "Marcel’s passion for the craft was truly inspiring, and it was so much fun to get hands-on and try my skills as a bartender. Learning about the different flavors and experimenting to create a unique cocktail was like creating a new song.
