K-Pop Girl Group Aespa Stuns for New Album Armageddon
The group give fresh looks in new concept photos.
The K-pop girl group Aespa have begun the rollout for their long awaited full album, Armageddon. Debuting in late 2020, members Giselle, Karina, Winter and NingNing are back for their biggest release yet.
Whilst being performers first and foremost, fashion has also been an integral part of the group’s success, with looks as unique as their concept being a part of Aespa’s identity since the beginning. In 2021 they were made brand ambassadors for Givenchy and individually they have been global ambassadors for brands such as Versace, Loewe, Converse and Polo Ralph Lauren.
Aespa’s theme has always been about the divide between the real world and the metaverse of Kwangya where their virtual counterparts called ae reside.
This is reflected in their latest looks. In their ‘Launch Code’ teasers, they don streetwear looks from dresses to coords with muted reds and greens, chunky shoes and heels with spikes that scream punk and dangling fabric.
In their ‘Superbeing’ concept, they stun with metallic silvers, pinks and purples, puffy jackets and skirts paired with unique anemone-like pieces of jewelry, giving looks that are out of this world.
Both themes primarily feature items from the catalogs of Ottolinger and Diesel. The Ottolinger looks are versatile for both concepts from the red sheer two-piece NingNing wears in her Launch Code pictures to the pink and purple dress with a metallic, scrunchie-like hem from Ottolinger’s Resort 2024 collection worn by Winter for Superbeing.
This soft pastel look by Winter is in complete contrast to the loud and dark Diesel outfit she wears for Launch Code. It pairs a black side cutout D-zelie dress with a De-Pra-Mini-Fsd skirt featuring a bold grinning smile with a pair of red lips. Karina utilizes the best of both worlds by combining a M-Idony blue sky-inspired Diesel dress with a pair of Ottolinger Twisted Sunglasses in her Superbeing look.
These star-studded outfits are just a taste of what Aespa have in store for the release of their first full album release on the 27th of May.
