Acne Studios Brings Nordic Nature To The City For F/W 2025
Contrasting textures & silhouettes.
Acne Studios’ latest collection is all about contrasts—melding the raw beauty of the North with the fast-paced energy of urban life. For Fall/Winter 2025, creative director Jonny Johansson explores the tension between these two worlds, crafting a wardrobe that feels both rugged and refined.
Nature Meets the Skyline
Set against a futuristic cityscape intertwined with organic, woven sculptures by Swedish design duo Front, the show played with the illusion of these opposing environments coexisting. “A Nordic upbringing develops a deep connection to nature,” says Johansson. “I wanted to capture the contrast between that and the modern city.”
A Soft Yet Powerful Silhouette
Outerwear takes on a more fluid, sculptural feel, with rounded sleeves and voluminous shoulders reminiscent of a power suit. Flowing dresses appear effortlessly draped, while shorter hemlines and high slits emphasize movement. The ‘70s make a subtle return through sculpted bodysuits and silk scarves reworked into tops and dresses.
Textures That Tell a Story
Leather comes in two extremes—sleek and structured or hand-washed to achieve a raw, crinkled texture. Faux fur and shearling bring in a nostalgic softness, while a unique flocked denim mimics the worn-in feel of a childhood teddy bear. Some fabrics feel almost weightless, cut on the bias for a fluid drape. Denim remains a key focus, with frozen-in-time creases and high-gloss vinyl coatings.
A Warm Yet Bold Palette
Earthy hues like brown, oat, honey, and beige form the foundation, punctuated by deep Bordeaux red, gold, and rich purple. Black adds a sharp, graphic contrast, while prints play with illusion—polka dots morph into teddy bears, and classic checks are reimagined with warped, distorted effects.
Shoes & Accessories: A Play on Nostalgia
Footwear takes inspiration from childhood, with plush, felt boots that feel like stuffed toys. Pumps get an unexpected twist, sliced into peep-toes or crafted from curled leather. Menswear classics like penny loafers are transformed into heeled boots, while faux ostrich, lizard, and alligator textures add a luxe edge.
Bags see the debut of the oversized Camero Hotel, joining the Camero Camera and Camero Party in suede finishes. The Multipocket bucket bag expands the existing family, while the Bowlina arrives in new colors and playful textures like faux ostrich and shearling.
Jewelry turns everyday office items into statement pieces, with pendants shaped like luxury pens and notebooks in gold and silver. Oversized aviator sunglasses add a bold, retro-futuristic touch, and belts make a statement with oversized heart-shaped plaques.
By blending the rugged charm of the North with the sleekness of the city, Acne Studios F/W 2025 delivers a collection that feels both nostalgic and forward-thinking—a perfect reflection of contrasts in motion.
