Acne & Malle's Mysterious New Scent
Comforting and innovative.
In an exciting collaboration between fashion and fragrance, Acne Studios has teamed up with esteemed perfumer Frédéric Malle to launch its first-ever perfume. This partnership marks a blend of Acne Studios' innovative approach to fashion with Frédéric Malle's expertise in creating unique and timeless scents.
The collaboration was sparked by a simple yet impactful gesture: a handwritten letter from Malle to Acne Studios' Creative Director, Jonny Johansson, expressing a desire to meet. This led to a creative exchange that perfectly aligned with both parties' vision of blending tradition with modern innovation.
The development process involved exploring various concepts, including the enchanting white nights of Sweden, aiming to capture a sense of freshness, light, and a modern twist on classic elements. The result is a fragrance embodying "metallic transparency," a concept representing a futuristic yet relatable scent.
Crafted by rising perfumer Suzy Le Helley, the fragrance takes inspiration from Acne Studios' iconic pink scarf, aiming to create a comforting and innovative scent. Le Helley introduced a unique blend of classical fragrance structures with contemporary raw materials, adding a touch of vanilla to introduce a subtle gourmand quality.
The Acne Studios by Frédéric Malle fragrance is a testament to the creative synergy between the fashion house and the perfumer, offering a powerful and nuanced scent, appealing to a new generation of fragrance enthusiasts.
Scheduled for release on April 17, the fragrance will be available in Acne Studios' stores, Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle boutiques, and through their digital platforms. It will be offered in two sizes, with the 50 ml bottle priced at $295 and the 100 ml at $470.
A pop-up will be held at The Grove in Los Angeles from April 22 to May 20 to celebrate the launch, featuring the new fragrance alongside other popular scents from Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle. This collaboration is a meeting of aesthetics, bridging the gap between fashion and fragrance with a signature scent that promises to captivate and inspire.
How about we plan a little fragrance adventure for April? Curious to see if this Acne Studios and Frédéric Malle scent lives up to the hype?
