She decided to start writing songs after she was placed on furlough and ever since then, she’s reaching for the stars. A demo version of SOFY’s single ‘Strawberry Milkshake’ was first picked by BBC Introducing in April and recognized by BBC Live Lounge talent search. Now it’s out in the world, like a perfectly sweet snack for the end of summer.
SOFY is brutally honest when describing the single, which announces her debut EP, to be released early next year. ‘It’s essentially about saying fuck what people think, embracing your differences, and just enjoying the ride even if nobody else gets it.’ We really are enjoying this ride with her.
The up-and-coming star will be performing BBC Music Introducing in London x Summer By The River Festival on September 30th. It’s a free entry show at The Scoop amphitheater, London Bridge, so everyone in London, clear your schedules.
