I'm Making Room for Bikinis That Don't Need to Scream for Attention
My ideal vacation wardrobe has very little interest in overcomplicating things. Give me a bikini that fits beautifully, a shirt I can throw over it, and a color that looks even better in the afternoon sun. I'm not always looking for another print or a complicated cut. Sometimes, the appeal is finding something simple enough to wear on repeat without getting bored.
That's the mood behind SLATE SWIM's Resort 2027 collection, photographed against the sun-soaked coastline of Capri. The 10-piece drop revisits the brand's signature silhouettes in three new shades: Truffle, Mulberry, and Dill.
The Colors Are Doing More Than Another Tropical Print

Truffle is a warm, earthy taupe, Mulberry leans into deep berry tones, and Dill brings a muted olive green into the mix. None of them relies on the usual bright turquoise or tropical print to announce that summer has arrived.
That's what draws me to this palette. Swimwear can be one of the trickier categories to shop because a swimsuit often feels tied to a particular vacation, mood, or version of yourself. A more restrained color makes a piece feel less dependent on the destination. I can imagine these shades working just as well beside a hotel pool as on a beach where the only plan is staying until sunset.
I'd Rather Find My Favorite Cut Than Chase Every Trend

SLATE SWIM keeps the focus on its established shapes and soft fabrics rather than reinventing the bikini for another season. The collection is designed around clean lines and refined details, with the fit doing much of the work.
I'm always more interested in swimwear that makes me want to reach for it again than a design that looks exciting for exactly one photograph. Finding a silhouette that feels right is personal enough without having to start from scratch every summer.
The collection's minimal approach also leaves space for everything around it. A loose linen shirt, oversized sunglasses, or an old pair of shorts can change the mood without competing with the swimsuit itself.
The Holiday Wardrobe I Actually Want

There's a temptation to treat resortwear like a separate personality, complete with an entirely new wardrobe purchased for a week away. I'd rather find pieces that make sense beyond the trip, especially when swimwear already takes up such a specific place in the closet.
SLATE SWIM's Resort 2027 collection is available through the official SLATE SWIM website. Its bikinis and separates keep the focus on color, silhouette, and understated design.
I'm not giving up a great print anytime soon, but this collection makes a convincing case for leaving a little breathing room in the summer wardrobe.
