5 Upcoming Models With Celebrity Parents

These young models are no stranger to the spotlight.

POSTED BY JOANNA PSAROS

Allow us to shock you, but we’re beginning to suspect it takes more than just hard work and determination to make it as a world-famous model. But while all professional models no-doubt lucked out in the genetic lottery, not all of them share DNA (and no doubt insider industry tips) with the biggest stars of the past few decades.

Meet the next generation of fashion icons who are refusing to stand in the shadows of their famous parents.

1.    Lily-Rose Depp

Q: What do you get when you cross an alternative sex symbol of the big screen with a stunning French songstress?

A: Lily-Rose Depp.

The daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis, Lily-Rose didn’t waste any time in getting her face out there. Somehow evading the requisite mid-teen ugly duckling phase, the young model became brand ambassador for Chanel at 15. By 16, she had landed her first major cover on Love magazine and international runways soon followed.

But in case we didn’t feel bad enough about ourselves, Lily-Rose is also an Award-nominated actress, having starred in films including Tusk, Yoga Hosers, and Voyagers; released earlier this year.

The final straw for us? Lily’s well-documented romance with our celebrity boyfriend Timothee Chalamet. Enough already, Depp!

2.    Kaia Gerber

Somewhat controversially, this model emerged on the scene at only ten years of age as the face of Versace’s ‘Young Versace’ campaign- quite a different path to that of her her famous mother, with the young Cindy Crawford’s big break coming after being spotted by a local photographer while working in retail in her senior year.

After her teens saw a whirlwind ascent into the world of professional modelling, Kaia and Mom went on to kick serious mother-daughter goals and work together in campaigns for watch brand Omega. Because what’s better than one brunette bombshell?

Not that she’s just a pretty a face. In 2020 it was reported that Kaia has jointly purchased American fashion and culture magazine W, displaying the business smarts of her entrepreneurial father. Oh yeah- her dad is a multimillionaire in business and entertainment. No big deal.

3.    Mathilda Gianopoulos

While readers may not be as familiar with Mathilda as with the of the other famous offspring above, watch this space if you like being ahead of the fashion curb.
The daughter of none-other than 80s screen queen Molly Ringwald, the then 16-year-old Mathilda made her modelling debut in February 2020 for designer Andrew Warren at New York Fashion Week. Ever the supportive mother, Molly accompanied her and was even seen trying to help her daughter get ready. Moms, amIrite?

Breaking the celebrity offspring mould, Mathilda and her family are refreshingly private and low key, with the Molly describing family dinners at home a highlight of the week. Mathilda doesn’t even appear to have a public Instagram- a Gen Z model!? We’d never have believed it.

4.    Scott Eastwood

You didn’t think we’d round things out without a bit of gender equity did you?

Scott Eastwood is a model, emerging Hollywood actor, and single father to Cavalier pup Josie (that’s right, he’s officially a DILF). He’s also the son of one of the most iconic actors of all time.

On growing up with Clint Eastwood, Scott reflected that “there was kind of an aura of greatness. Like, he’s my hero.” He also recalls his father not depriving him of the struggling artist experience and refusing to lend Scott money in his early career.

Luckily for Scott (and to an even greater extent, us) that didn’t stop him from making an impact in the modelling world, landing campaigns including Hugo Boss and Davidoff Cool Water. Check them out; but you might need a cool water yourself when you glimpse those rippling abs.

5.    Hailey Bieber

Hailey Bieber (formerly Baldwin) has attained such a level of mainstream fame that some readers may wonder why she is on this list. Well and truly eclipsing the star that is Stephen Baldwin- actor and lesser-known brother of Alec (sorry Stephen)- Hailey boasts a net-worth of $20 million and, more importantly in an age where social influence is its own type of currency, has over 38 million Instagram followers.

Representing the likes of Tommy Hilfiger, Dolce and Gabbana, Guess, and Ralph Lauren by the age of 24; it truly is Hailey’s world and we’re just living in it. Now nobody mention Selena Gomez.
