Netflix has unleashed You Season 5, the grand finale to Joe Goldberg’s twisted saga. All ten episodes went live at midnight PT (3 AM ET), so set your alarms or binge straight through your lunch break.

Back to the Big Apple

Joe Goldberg is (somehow) back in New York, trying to keep a low profile as “Prince Charming” to his wife, Kate Lockwood (Charlotte Ritchie). Three years after fleeing London, Joe’s suburban dream unravels when old obsessions and fresh whispers threaten to expose his darkest impulses.

Expect late-night strolls past familiar haunts, plus a return to the city streets where it all began—only this time, Joe knows every dark corner by heart.

New Blood, Old Money

Joining Penn Badgley and Ritchie are newcomers who shake up Joe’s world. Madeline Brewer plays Bronte, a free-spirited playwright who makes Joe question his posh new life. Meanwhile, Kate’s siblings—half-brother Teddy (Griffin Matthews) and twins Raegan and Maddie (Anna Camp)—bring boardroom power struggles and family secrets to the table.

Add Antoine Ploszek, Nava Mau, Pete Ploszek, Tom Francis, and Heidi Gardner to the mix, and you’ve got a crowded social circle where everyone’s hiding something… and Joe’s always watching.

Behind the Scenes Shake-Up

Series vets Michael Foley and Justin W. Lo have steered the ship for this final season after co-creator Sera Gamble stepped down. Filming wrapped last August back in New York, giving Joe’s story a full-circle vibe. Executive producers Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter hand-picked Foley and Lo to tie up loose ends over five seasons—no cliffhangers left behind.

Critics Say…

Early reviews land around 52 on Metacritic and 71% on Rotten Tomatoes. Fans praise jaw-dropping twists; naysayers point to uneven writing and tonal whiplash. Collider calls it a “7/10 thrill ride,” while The Standard laments the “cringeworthy moments.” Audience scores hover at 67%, so expect love-it-or-hate-it drama.

Whether you’re Team Joe or Team “Lock him up,” Season 5 promises a finale as messy—and addictive—as everything that came before.
