Winona Ryder Serves Goth Girl Summer As The Face Of Marc Jacobs

The actress appears in the new campaign nearly twenty years after her first campaign for the brand.

Winona was the original grunge girl of the 90s often seen in worn-out biker jackets and silky slips. The campaign spotlights the new J Marc shoulder bag, in one image the actress is pictured clutching a tangerine version of the bag that contrasts with her all-black outfit, made up of a tulle skirt, long-sleeve top and Jacob’s iconic Kiki boots. Ryder’s hair is styled in choppy raven locks that fall over her face and her heavily lined eyes and the dark lip are indicative of her early days in the spotlight.

In the other campaign images, styled by Emma Wyman and shot by Harley Weir, Winona is seen in a plethora of moody looks including a low-cut black dress with bell-shaped sleeves and a baby blue 90s style slip accentuated with black lace.

Winona has had a long history with Marc Jacobs and is considered an “ultimate muse” for the designer. After infamously being arrested for shoplifting Marc Jacobs, she starred in the brand’s 2003 Spring/Summer campaign shot by Juergen Teller. It’s quite the iconic pipeline of events and is one of the many reasons to love “Winona forever”.
