We have a virtual sit down with Marie Noreger The 23-year-old Norwegian to have a quick catch up about being signed to The Orchard Nordics (part of Sony Music Group), her upcoming E.P and 2020 so far!

Hi Marie, how are you? How has your 2020 been all things considered?

Hi! I’m fine! 2020 has been a challenging year, but also interesting in many ways, we all have much to learn, that’s how I feel.

Can you talk to us a bit about your career journey up until now? Has your background always been music?

I started off as a photographer and so that’s how I met my Manager Kim. He hired me to take a cover photo for his other artist Ehi. I showed him one of my demos and then he brought me to the studio.

Music has always been a big part of my life, but to share my own music is a very new and exciting experience for me. I’ve always been very spontaneous and open with my path, but I knew I was going to do something creative with my life, whether it was photography or music or something else, but I feel like it’s all intertwined now with my music project and that feels so good!

Can you tell us some of your key highlights up to this point?

It was amazing to just drop my first single! But it’s all a highlight to be honest, I’m excited for what's to come!

Can you tell us about the inspiration behind your music?

Life itself. The journey we experience and all the colors that follows. I think self growth and expansion is very interesting.

Can you talk to us a bit about your forthcoming debut EP release?

I’m very excited about the songs I picked to be in the first project, it’s all intertwined into one story.

Anything else exciting in the pipeline you can talk to us about?

Who knows? This year is full of surprises!

Just one last fun question, if you could do a collaboration with any artist who would it be and why?

Such a hard Q to answer, there’s so many talented artists. I love Jakes Blake’s sound though. The rhythms, the way he experiments with his voice and sounds... instruments... I think it’s unique.

Thanks for taking the time to chat to us Marie!
