Timothée Chalamet's First Fashion Collaboration Is For A Good Cause
All of the proceeds of his collaborative hoodie with designer Haider Ackermann will go to safeguarding women's and children's rights in Afghanistan.
Timothée Chalamet has partnered up with designer Haider Ackermann for his first-ever fashion collaboration. (Finally!) The two — who have been “wanting to make something together for a couple of years now” (according to their joint Instagram posts) — put a passion behind the project and settled on a co-designed hoodie for an important cause.
On Wednesday, both the actor and designer announced on Instagram that the idea for their charitable hoodie emanated from August. “We were horrified to learn of the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan,” Chalamet and Ackermann captioned their Instagram posts. Together, the pair decided to donate 100% of the proceeds of their collaborative hoodie to Afghanistan Libre — an organization that fights to support and safeguard women’s and children’s rights in Afghanistan.
“As those atrocities continue to spread, we should amplify the voices of those silent soldiers,” Chalamet and Ackermann said. To further highlight their mission, the hoodie, which is available in white, features the eyes of a young child faded into a blue paint splatter graphic. Underneath the words “SILENT SOLDIER,” “HA+TC: A COMMON THREAD” also appears, alluding to the common thread behind Chalamet and Ackermann’s new threads.
When you order your own HA + TC “The Silent Soldier” hoodie, you’ll find a message on the HA + TC website that reads: “By ordering a sweatshirt you are donating to this great cause and its vital work. With all our affection – Haider + Timothée.”
To support Afghanistan Libre, you can purchase the collaborative hoodie on the HA + TC website.
