This International Women’s Day Wandler Collaborates With Artist and Activist Michele Pred 

Having always had an affinity and connection to art and design, Wandler knows the power of its accessories - they give you confidence and allow you to make a statement. This International Women’s Day the female led company Wandler collaboratas with Swedish-American artist and activist, Michele Pred on the subject of equal pay.

In Pred’s Power of the Purse series she used purses as her canvas to bring attention to modern politically charged language from today’s female activists. For her, the use of purses is a reminder of how much power women have to make real change. 

As women are still paid less than men for work of equal value - the global gender pay gap is stuck at 16% and in some countries it’s as much as 35%. If things stay at a similar pace it could take up to 200 years before things between men and women are equal. To highlight the gender pay gap issue Wandler is collaborating with Michele Pred and creating 2 one-off pieces with 100% of profits being donated to WOMEN INC, who strive for equal opportunities for everyone, irrespective of gender and sex.

The collaboration with Pred features the Hortensia Bag and recently launched Teresa Bag  - each bag highlights the power of the purse and has EQUAL PAY emblazoned on both designs - it even lights up.

Both styles will be available to buy at De Bijenkorf and Wandler.com from March 8th for $2800.
