The North Face Launches Capsule Collection Inspired By Attempted Everest Expedition

It all started in 1987.

POSTED BY CHLOE MARTIN

The North Face’s Director of Equipment, Sally McCoy, set off on a quest in 1987 to be the first American woman to climb Everest. Although the event was cancelled due to poor weather conditions, McCoy’s effort led to something more iconic.

McCoy’s ascent ’87 helped create some of The North Face’s most well-known pieces, including the Lhotse, Pumoi and Sagamartha. The brand-new Capsule Collection looks to the past and also to the future, by using 100% recycled fabrics the brand highlights the importance of protecting our future and the places where inspiration for the collection comes from.

The Expedition System Capsule is designed to support your every exploration desire, helping you tackle difficult terrain and weather conditions, pushing you forward, not holding you back. The two main color options include energetic orange and a calming dark blue that are both paired with contrasting black elements.

The North Face Capsule Collection is now available to cop for your next winter adventure via thenorthface.com, selected stores and retail partners.
