The Musical Of Cult Classic ‘Mean Girls’ Will Be Made Back Into A Movie

So wait, the movie of the musical of the movie?

POSTED BY TENAI PALOMINO

Original creator Tina Fey is set to produce a brand new Mean Girls movie based on the stage production. Currently showing on Broadway, the production was both written and produced by Fey, who expressed her excitement over the new remake, “I’ve spent sixteen years with these characters now. They are my Marvel Universe, and I love them dearly.”

Most of the info on the new remake is still under wraps. There is currently no news on the release date, casting or potential cameos, BUT it has been confirmed that the musical will come to London’s West End next year – most definitely an investment, we think.

As usual, Twitter is polarised over the subject. Some users are hopeful, noting how different the musical is to the movie and therefore deserves a movie. Wait, have we said that right? Other users are arguing that classics should be left alone, especially ones as precious as Mean Girls, which – let’s be honest – is a huge part of the millennial experience. One user wrote, “was this greenlit by Karen,” with others mocking the whole movie to musical to movie ordeal.

Raise your hand if you’ve ever been personally victimised by a remake.
